Our first SPECIAL PROJECT supported Ghost Bear Institute, a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to promoting nature literacy and fostering love for our natural world.
Ghost Bear is run by nature photographer team, Jill Cooper & Simon Jackson. When Simon was 13, he founded the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition with a mission to protect Canada’s iconic Spirit Bear and its BC coastal habitat. His efforts helped to create the largest land protection measure in North American history.
Ghost Bear Institute builds on the legacy of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition by promoting nature literacy and love for our natural world. Together, Jill & Simon spend months in remote areas across North America, recording the stories of wild animals and their natural environments.
The stories that Jill & Simon capture provide the content for Ghost Bear’s "Nature Labs" – a virtual platform for nature-based learning.
Thank you to everyone who showed their love for wildlife by purchasing a painting to raise vital funds for Ghost Bear Institute! Together, we raised $1,000. You did good!
Emerging artist and founder of SHOW YOUR LOVE, Tanya Markvart, painted 5 original paintings inspired by the jaw-dropping wildlife photography of this nonprofit organization, with all proceeds going to Ghost Bear!
